This is, naturally, very unhelpful at a time Western support for Ukraine is facing some particularly tricky challenges. I wrote last week about the next 12 months being critical, especially regarding European financial support for Ukraine. edition.cnn.com/2024/02/22/e...
It is the default position of supranational institutions to not rule out things that might help a crisis. What Jones has done is taken a fairly bland statement of fact and not only spun it into the most absurd version of itself, but surrounded it in EMERGENCY FURNITURE.
What Macron is doing here is not ruling something out. That thing is probably unlikely, but that is why things like NATO exist. I am not ruling out having a car accident one day, which is why I have insurance. I hope it doesn't happen, but I am not ruling it out.
Jones, whose own lawyers said in a defamation case that he shouldn't be taken seriously or believed, probably knows this. It's DISinfo rather than MISinfo because it's designed to deceive rather than spread accidentally. It's manipulating a truth to spread a lie.

One way Europe could theoretically get cash is to raise money against frozen Russian assets (legally possible) It would be controversial and could set a precedent that would make it hard to admonish China for doing the same. edition.cnn.com/2024/02/22/e...
3. No deal. The worst of the 3, but all 3 contain a whiff of this about them: in a year that Trump may be elected and at a time Western attention already slipping from Ukraine, any precedent for pulling away very alarming for Ukranians.
