People get it in their heads that men who have sex with men are more at risk of various infections because of their behavior or queerness but in virtually all cases it is simply because these infections took root in their social networks and queer men hang our/have close contact with other queer men

Notably in Africa it is *women* who have sex with men, not men who have sex with men, who are often most at risk from HIV
