The lack of support Iā€™m getting here on what is one of the hardest days of my life tells me everything I need to know about this garbage site. Iā€™m out. Enjoy reading CFPs and rants about AI without me.

For those of you who had the misfortune of not knowing Manengue while he was alive: he was the best cat ever.

Thank you, Manengue Walker-McGarry, for teaching me to love stronger than I ever thought I could.

ā€œIā€™m just a realistā€ ok will you accept the reality that Bidenā€™s actions against Palestine will cost him votes and potentially the election, and advise him to act accordingly? Or is it only realism when other people have to compromise?

AI image synthesis is inherently wasteful. As we all know but often ignore, anything called AI today consumes enormous energy resources and computing power. Also, it relies on the mass exploitation of human labor on a planetary scale. But thereā€™s more to it ā€¦ 1/6

A pediatricianā€™s two weeks inside a hospital in Gaza www.newyorker.com/news/q-and-a...

And if I could offer an example around how that manifests: a seven-year-old had deep lacerations to his leg and needed some suturing. It wasnā€™t a life or death caseā€”it was very simpleā€”but the only pain relief we had was Motrin, which was frankly cruel, and a cruel undertaking. There was no ketamine. And so I tried to use one of my pediatric tools as a distraction. And so I had a light flasher, but he wasnā€™t interested in any of those designs that I put on the wall. So I tried to distract him from the pain. Usually what I would do is ask questions like, ā€œSo whoā€™s your best friend?ā€ I canā€™t ask that because what if his best friendā€™s dead? ā€œWhatā€™s your favorite subject at school?ā€ He hasnā€™t been to school in three months. ā€œWhatā€™s your favorite food?ā€ I donā€™t know when the last time he ate would be. Every single facet of their society has been ripped apart. ā™¦

Back on research leave. Would you believe these sources are all for the same project?
