We can finally post a preview of our mischievous crime otter comic in the Perfect Crime Party anthology from @ironcircuscomics.bsky.social@cattifer.bsky.socialwww.backerkit.com/c/projects/i...

Page 1
PANEL 1 [big]
A big establishing shot of an early 1900s aquarium/museum type building. Thereā€™s a big banner across the front reading ā€˜THE SWINEVALD PEARLā€ and a red carpet leading out the front, with a scattering of fancy people milling around.

CAPTION 1:	Donā€™t tell me youā€™re actually here to see the pearl.
CAPTION 2:	Everyoneā€™s here to see the pearl. Thereā€™s a banner.
CAPTION 1:	Thatā€™s assuming thereā€™ll be a pearl to see.

PANEL 2 [small]

An alleyway behind the building with a small sign reading [CATERING ENTRANCE] and another reading [NO TRESPASSING] and a couple of wanted posters with the vague silhouette of an otter on them. The door is ajar.

CAP 2: He wouldnā€™t dare. With this security? Impossible.
CAP 1: They said that about Deweyā€™s Diamond Bathysphere.
Page 2
PANEL 1 [big]
Establishing shot inside the gala. Itā€™s a large open space with a couple of large fish tanks built into each wall. These can either be stylized or thereā€™s just one really large fish in each or a fish tank castle, gags like that. Thereā€™s a smattering of fancy guests and cater waiters milling about aimlessly. Importantly, thereā€™s a large buffet table somewhere in the room. The buffet table can just have metal chafing dishes or geometric appetizers, nothing too specific. Maybe thereā€™s a sign or large food item to suggest whatā€™s going on there.

There is also a heavy metal [STAFF ONLY] door in one of the visible walls.

Conspicuously, two waiters are bringing out a comically large punchbowl on wheels.

GUEST 1:	And Admiral Ottovordemgentā€™s prize fly rod.
GUEST 2:	No!
GUEST 1:	Hook line and sinker
GUEST 2:	I can never tell when youā€™re joking.
Page 3

PANEL 1

Closeup on 2 party guests in elegant evening wear, gossiping over flutes of champagne. The buffet table is visible behind them and the punch bowl has been placed on it, but is out of focus.

GUEST 2:	Heā€™d never make it past the outer cordon, much less into the vault.

GUEST 1:	Who knows how his devious mind works? Heā€™s nabbed a dozen of the worldā€™s nautical treasures and no one knows how or why.

PANEL 2

Identical to above, although something is beginning to shift in the punch bowl.

GUEST 2:	Some sort of nefarious undersea tycoon no doubt

GUEST 1: Or a romantic old world art thief. A debonair sophisticate with a taste for the briney things.

PANEL 3

We now focus on the bowl. A large anthropomorphic otter in scuba gear pops his head gingerly above the rim. He is covered in fruit punch.

PANEL 4

We can see Gideon clambering out of the bowl while the party guests chatter away.

GUEST 1:	Keep an eye out, he could be anywhere
GUEST 2:	I remain profoundly skeptical.

Speaking as someone who knows a little bit about copyright, and has been a proud member of the "edgy internet"* since the early 90s, I'd like to talk about why letting the AI companies freely scrape content is a bad thing for open content, and a threat to everything the commons movement worked for.

Can confirm, in Australia we now have this option. It's like doing a RAT, same kind of swab on a stick. You do it yourself.
