I have recordable cd/dvd, their label says CDRW or DVDRW (Had to check them right now). If you put these in your drive the program shows a new option called "Erase disc". Just take 5 min to effectively write all the disc and be usable again.

I only had one of those discs, I couldn't see much reason for it.
