You don't have to learn them all at once! Just focus on the basics (dodge and attack at the right time) and when you no longer feel clunky start trying new stuff depending on what you feel you need most (like focusing a weak spot or trying some combo)
As a fan of both Pokémon and monhun I liked it a lot back when I played it on the 3DS. Although I remember the battle system being a little plain and the gameplay kinda repetitive in the end, but for the most part I liked it and it was cool being able to befriend monsters Haven't played 2 yet

Ya que estamos con consejos, si pones las dos en la misma imagen, pon uno encima del otro. Si lo pones al lado, algún tramposillo (*cof cof* yo *cof cof*) puede hacer magic eye y descubrir las diferencias casi al momento x)
I think if they were to add a new weapon, it would be great if it was something different to what already exists rather than just a in-between mix of weapons. Maybe another blunt weapon or a ranged equivalent of the Great Sword. Or both. A cannon you can shoot or use as a giant mace sounds awesome
I did some tests and the more max health you have, the faster you heal. Not by a lot, but from 100 to 150 hp I think it was 3 sec faster each % of health
