How about using the water proof extension boxes they use for xmas lights. Or use the plastic zip bags used for freezing veg they are pretty strong. Or a cheap kids lunch box.

Colder night and only 12 species on moth 2 NFY Acleris variegana, Agriphila geniculea and a single Flounced Rustic. The by catch was high with 17 Common Wasp, 8 European Hornet, Birch Shieldbug, and 2 species of water beetle Rhantus suteralis and Acilicus sulcatus.

A bit of distance photography this morning two of three Osprey over the edge of Wareham Channel taken from top of Hydes Heath at Arne. Juvenile birds one had a blue ring so presume both local bred birds.

7 species of moth were new for the year but the best of the bunch was Dark Spectacle which was a first for the garden bringing the garden list 619 species.

Certainly the Banded is just the fourth record for Lytchett Bay as a whole.

Great Osprey Cruise with @harbourbirds.bsky.social plenty of Ospreys to keep us entertained and so much including a White-t Eagle perched, 3 Marsh Harrier, 20 Spoonbill on Brownsea in perfect weather. photo looking over lagoon.

A couple of shots from this mornings dragonfly survey. Small Red Damselfly (Ceriagroin tenellum) and Emerald Damselfly (Lestes sponsa). We recorded nine species over and around one pond not bad being the conditions were not ideal.
