we keep asking people to make their posts accessible not to be annoying and superior but because YOU try navigating the average social media site with a screen reader and just hearing “image. image. image.” and not being included in crucial PSAs or even just fun stuff like memes.

i know from much personal experience that alt text may not exactly be fun to write, but to purposely not use it—or to not at least tag your post with the hashtag Alt4Me—is to say, “i only care about communicating with the people who can see well enough to read my words on their own.”

Chadzia I’m losing my frigging candy corn. Two more big accounts were like “hey you disabled people are assholes” THIS AFTERNOON. I do not understand why advocating for everyone to have access to the same experiences is asshole behavior.
