Rstudio makes this actively harder for new students, though, since it doesn't have a file tree on the LHS of the editor like VS Code. Navigating a folder is clunky and students can never really visualize a nested folder full of files. Positron will fix all this though. Can't come soon enough!
I'm feeling this right now doing structural work... There are so many "hidden" tips and tricks for calibration that you are really only going to learn working closely with a senior author on a project. Advisor-advisee relationship just isn't enough to really learn that skill.
How do you deal with moisture and mold? My understanding is that you need a really good (potentially environmentally costly) sealant, and it's hard to construct in wet conditions.
Any good reviews of Studwell's book? When I was reading it, I wish I had some annotated copy about history and, more to my interest, interpreting his informal reasoning through a structural model. Would be a nice JEP paper or something.
