Don’t trust Google for customer service numbers. It might be a scam.

Google just keeps highlighting scams when you’re looking for help from your bank, airline or other businesses — and people are being tricked out of money.

I can verify this. Also websites not just numbers. Personal experience & shout out to my bank for immediate block & refund.

The giveaway that it’s a scam number would be someone human picks up the phone instantly and wants to help you.

I was 2 minutes into a phone call with Apple when I realized something wasn't right and just hung up. Went to Apple's official site and yeah, different number than what google offered up.

I’m sure the answer is ultimately money but how does Google keep from getting sued for this? At some point this has moved beyond simply indexing other content into presenting themselves as an authoritative source, which has to carry responsibility for accuracy.

Facebook too. There was an ad for something where the price was great it was obviously a scam. I reported the add and Facebook was like nah it's cool.
