So often I see the followup reaction of "and they're probably talking about me in that language". Like, people do not actually care about strangers that much.
Even if they are talking about me, why should I care? I'm not some insecure Jr High student anymore. Part of growing up is realizing we don't need others' approval to love ourselves.
