Most sheep get their tails docked because they have badly designed butts and get flystrike, which you should not look up if you’re eating. And most sheep, of course, are not fat-tail breeds. But if you don’t dock the tail on a fat-tailed sheep breed, you get this.

To be clear I am not dismissing Kafka, as a distributed messaging system supporting a pub/sub model it's one of the best around. But it is both overkill AND missing typical levers for a straightforward queue. It is the wrong solution for this particular problem.

My brother in law was in a window seat in a pub in Oxford. Someone walked past the window window. His friend said “Was that Brian Blessed?” at which point blessed LEAPT back into view shouting “YES! IT’S ME! BRIAN BLESSED!” then threw back his head, laughed and RAN away.
