Will is often very wrong, here included — and he fought bitterly from the start against the idea of Biden stepping aside. But his intentions are good, no need for the comments to be THIS harsh against him. He’s not a grifter, he just has terrible instincts.

Agree. And assuming that's right, the only way out is for Trump to "fire" Vance – which doesn't *actually* fire him – by demanding the RNC reconvenes, changes rules, and nominates a new VP. But it's now at the point where some ballots would not change – this week was the time to do it.

We won’t find out if she would have read the speech verbatim, but it’s objectively reasonable to be skeptical of that, and thus risk adverse. The entire MO of this movement is infiltration and disruption. They could be feigning outrage while having never intended to play nice.
