Sincerely believe that more LTRs should make sleep hygiene a talking point when cohabitating. Nothing worse than sniping at one another because you’re both constantly exhausted. Good sleep means emotional presence and intellectual bandwidth to tackle problems together.

Our 2nd Xmas together, I researched a bunch and got my SO a wedge pillow (back sleeper w/ snoring/sleep apnea + chronic heartburn) Told him lemme know if he didn't like it and I'd find another use for it plus get him something else; he tried it, after ~2-3 days acclimation it helped immensely

We replaced the mattress at my family home (without permission, just went and did it) and the fights dropped precipitously because we were rested enough not to take the bait when we visited.

This is so true. King sized beds for the win.

Bonus that until the started bulldozing the place this year, we'd stay there every time and basically it would be like sleeping at home. Which is always great!

One thing I still appreciate about my ex is that we got separate rooms. Got to have somewhere to retreat to. Granted, that relationship might have ended sooner if we hadn't done that, but you know, healthy decision on its own

my wife and I are extremely lucky that we share the same taste in mattress firmness and do not have to argue over which mattress to pick

More people who live by themselves need to remember it too.
