This question will most apply to UK people because geography, but... Would there be interest in a 1 day event that: a) Offers the gaming public chance to hear from scholars working on games history/game studies (with the focus on games history). & b) Offers the chance to play history-focused RPGs.

Would love to support this in any way possible. I think this would be a great idea. @mikeofcthulhu.bsky.social has contributed to a symposium about historical games in Edinburgh last year. It would be great to have something local!

On the one hand this sounds fascinating, but on the other hand my life is too busy for me to take an entire 2-3 days out (including travel) for something that isn't a primary focus of mine. =/

Liverpool based and definitely interested in the scholarly side - I tend to find once I've picked talks I want to go to there's no time for gaming Is Andy Sawyer who used to be librarian at Liverpool University Science Fiction archive still about (I think he retired) still about?

If you look at how popular most of the RPG panels were at the Glasgow Worldcon - I think you'd find a very decent audience here.
