I dunno, Vincent Racaniello on twiv is moderately convinced that the original version of the vaccines would be about as effective as the updated boosters.

I think reasonable people can disagree about how important it is that we update the booster vs just getting boosted with anything COVID related. But we know that re-activation of our immune system for COVID every so often is good and helpful.
