In the U.K. general election held last month, Labour's massive parliamentary majority was decided in 87 constituencies won by the party with majorities ranging from 15 to 3,713 votes. 77 of these constituencies were located in England, six in Scotland and four in Wales. 1/

However, although a switch of 82,771 votes in the cited constituencies to the second-placed candidates would have left Labour short of an overall majority, it would have been able to form a government due to the refusal of Sinn Féin MPs to take their seats in Westminster. /END
