I discovered a crazy one recently called My Vampire System which is apparently part of a larger universe of System web fiction but the platform I was reading it on checks constantly with Cloudflare and at some point I lost access to it for whatever reason

I am a big fan of Worm, Tales of Mu, Super Powereds and many other online works of web fiction and I do think many of them were more successful and well known than self published authors in the 2000s but the social media age means they usually have to promote on a platform now

It is probably pretty easy to compare the number of people with 100k TikTok followers vs the number of self published authors with at least 6-10 books selling 1 million copies or more

I would guess that even the average successful AO3 fan fiction author with a Ko-Fi account for donations makes more than the vast majority of "authors"

Certainly the vast majority of authors who live on it write romance novels, not literature

My point was the equivalent TikTok engagement to earn minimum wage is ~100k followers who engage an average amount

I had heard people posting here that having a book sell one million was equal to about $5k/year. Only have to have 6 of those to equal minimum wage in NY but technically you could live on it 🤷‍♂️

Apparently the CNN undecided voters thought Walz won the debate, so we’re all oversaturated with politics-brain and may need to log off

This is why we tell people to read Capital

The science so far seems to support that the answer is testosterone levels in the womb, whether you are cis or trans (chromosome is incorrect because there are actually a decent number of cis woman XY individuals including mothers of children)
