The way that I know all the money and energy spent on targeted advertising is a waste is because I still get ads for sports.

If anyone had an accurate profile of me, they’d know to that this is *never* a useful advertisement, and I’d almost—almost!—be willing to endure the surveillance if it meant that these would just stop.
