That feels debatable given the number of people willingly following demagogues like Trump, Elon, Jordan Peterson, etc. They have developed collective behaviors as well, it seems I was just curious. I've been wondering why people fall prey to that, but I suppose it falls to anthropology & psychology

I was just about to point out the Tegnell personality cult in Sweden.

I think personality cults (celebrity followings, really) are a very different phenomenon from close-knit sectarian groups where the leaders exert intense psychological pressure over the members, who are basically trapped. Radical movements are not cults, or vice versa.
