Yeaaah my big complaint with SF's setting is there's some neat ideas and the quests actually *Do* point out that none of main factions, even "Uoptian" visions of the UC and FC are perfect. Like the FC storyline is cliche space western...that touches on how the scars of Colony War hasn't healed...

That's just it right there: Starfield's a box full of ideas, just not a lot of it actually connected real well. Annnnd that the UC's Libertarian approach to freedom and government means guys like Ron Hope have way too much power, and also are effectivelly legally untouchable. And then there's *Neon*, AKA "Sooo The FC basically lets a Night City esque body operate with all that attending baggage."
