One last thing: To prop up the Cintiq at an angle, I used to have tons of books stacked behind. (The current Cintiq stand costs $500, which I'm unwilling to spend.) A few months ago, good friend Keika Yamaguchi gifted me a stand she no longer used, and it works perfect. tinyurl.com/2s48wczn
Switching from Intuos to Cintiq is a breeze, btw. I've used a tablet for 10+ years. There was an initial weirdness of the mouse-pointer offset (it is slightly different from an iPad, where I don't see the pointer), but your brain quickly adjusts. Highly recommend. :-)
The down side, like you said, is travel. When I travel, I have to bring a laptop (borrowed from my old company) and iPad as a drawing device hooked to the laptop. The travel setup is bulky, but I can't get around it. iPad Pro alone doesn't do it for finishing.
