On NIH budget for next year: The House majority this week released their toplines for next year's budget. The Labor-HHS-Education subcommittee rec is $184B. The just-passed budget (FY24) amount was $225B. This is a **$41 BILLION** dollar cut. Or twenty percent.‼️ 🚨🚨 1/
The R chair of the committee says: "Non-defense programs will be cut effectively by 6%, and those cuts are not evenly distributed." The 6% is misleading - it's relative to the FRA. Compared to FY24 enacted, it's about an 11% cut. It's right they're not evenly distributed. /2
