I started a rewatch of Stargate Atlantis this weekend, and it really holds up. And it only reinforces how broken modern sci-fi television is. We went from 22 episodes a year of fun character driven adventures to 8 episodes every 18-24 months of serialized bleakness.

I found a video on youtube from a writer and he said that the problem is that things are not done with love. Now producers order a product to be made and they hire yes sir/mam people to do them but there is never love or care for what they are doing.
