I was hit by cars twice on my motorcycle. I've never been hit by a bicycle in my car.
Holy shit. My wife and I stayed in Jamaica, VT for part of our honeymoon, not too long before Irene hit. Even a few years after the hurricane, I think for our 5-year anniversary, the devastation was still apparent.
IIRC, Vermont was supposed to be a "safe place" as well. Hurricane Irene disproved that in 2011, and they've experienced unusual flooding the past couple years. No place is safe. Here in Virginia, we've had wildfire smoke from Canada, along with a lot of extreme temps.
There's an election coming up in a little more than a month, with one side representing an acceleration of our already serious climate crisis. The red states being affected by the hurricane can show their support for science and sanity by rejecting that acceleration. We'll see soon enough.
That is awesome.
And after taking the test, I'm apparently the anti-muon neutrino, because I almost never interact with other particles. Sounds about right.
Whatever as-yet-undiscovered particle that makes up dark matter. Because I may or may not exist.
