Refreshingly honest speech from Chris Stark today on govt’s plan for clean energy mission: 1. ESO to report in autumn on practical steps needed to meet 2030 2. Will show it’s not possible under current system. Govt will quickly set out needed changes: Planning Bill key & will be introduced 2025

3. Govt’s plan will state clear definition for meeting target - says won’t fudge this but there are different options ministers will need to review (might not be %). This will include some unabated gas on the system (though if he’s done his job right it won’t be very active).
