As a young child raised without religion, I had no IDEA about the allegorical nature of Narnia (though I was obsessed with Aslan and even wrote him letters, hoping he'd visit me at night). Reread TLTW&TW as a college student and couldn't believe how blatant it was XD

I was a cradle atheist, but the surrounding community was very churchy so I managed to make the connection between 'the lion is kind of a bossy asshole' and 'just like how the kids at school describe god' fairly early on.

Oh gosh, same. I learned the basic Jesus story from going to see a musical and then I reread Narnia later than year and had a real wait is this supposed to be...Jesus moment.
