Incidentally whatever the markets consider the govt has in headroom for borrowing won't be changed by changing the definition of debt. Market makers aren't stupid. They know the household budget analogy is bonkers.

The markets are using the household analogy, and the govt aren’t using it to inform their actions and policies, which you seem to think. Only to communicate ideas to an uninformed public. Since economists and the market appear to be in favour of reviewing the definition of debt, I think you’re wrong
