I can't quite work out whether your methodology accounts for other possible explanations, such as the greater share of the civil service in the Northern Ireland economy, possibly combined with the periodic absence of political leadership in the province for years on end.

And so that would explain why the Northern Irish economy appears to have outperformed the wider UK economy?
