I heard him talking about this last year. Very interesting topic. It's often so hard to claim/prove that someone is lying deliberately. Blair essentially did it due to work pressures too, rather than with more sinister intentions.

Of course it’s very hard to judge someone’s intentions. However, what we know about Blair suggests that this was more than a reaction to work pressures, as he seems to have lied about many other things (fake degree; his family dying in 9/11)
