First walk past 'No Sycamore Gap' on Saturday, still a shock but at least there some signs of life 👍
Picked up this small black stick from my lawn so it wouldn't damage my ancient mower. Then realised it was the longest stringiest example of hedgehog poo I ever did see. Chris Packham would be proud, but I'm off for a shower 🙄
Ah well that would make sense 🙂
North Berwick is worth the visit in itself but yes the Rock is fascinating. Two boats visit, one a catamaran, plus ribs. Obviously the ribs will be bouncier, we've done both boats now and both very stable, around a 90 min trip. Just don't try it with a bouncy swell and you should be fine hopefully
It's the name for gannet chicks apparently, not sure if this is a Scottish name though
So a gannet chick is called a guga. Before hatching it makes a peeping noise so the parents have fish ready for it hatching. We saw downy fluffy white chicks, the older ones here are black & white. A pair of gannets on the right are 'billing' which they do when one returns to the nest. Top tips 🙂
Soon I will be posting all the usual @Virtualastro goodness that I did on Twitter, here on BlueSky. And some new epic content that will make you go all tingly inside. I must warn you though... It will be awesome!
Aye I think I'll do this trip every time I come here if the gannets are home
North Berwick Law today, such great views for minimal ascent. Fairly hazy today but I wonder if all 3 Munros are often spotted from here?
