Shoe is like the worst possible person to defend Wendigoon from the "transphobe who still associates with alt-right figures" accusations. Like I'd sooner have Turkey Tom as my defense attorney than the poster child of alt-right pipelines.
Even after reading the article, I struggle to understand what the fuck this game is even supposed to be. I didn't expect to enjoy Lego Fortnite, as content-lite as the game is, but at least I can wrap my brain around Lego + survival/crafting. But Pop/multiverse/action-adventure?? I guess??
This is 100% a doorway to "I disagree with your opinion and as such I have decided your gender identity is not valid enough to partake in this discussion," which is already a problem with this website and I'm not going to pretend it isn't.
It's a purity test, sorry not sorry. You're drawing lines in the sand regarding what qualifies as valid transness and "pretty much being cis so you don't get to talk," and that's not comforting from the same community that doesn't acknowledge nonbinary or fluid people as trans.
"Lack of imagination" should not be a valid platform for a multi-billion dollar company to sue indie devs. You're incapable of seeing beyond your consumerist glasses and making it everyone else's problem.
To be fair, criticism generally needs to be contextualized so it makes sense people would ask if they're interested in what you're saying.
Point 3 kinda proves you're a Nintendo bootlicker looking for reasons to target a random indie game for having monster catching mechanics.
No one: Some random guy on BlueSky: "God this pregnant dog is so sexy, hey guys isn't this pregnant dog sexy? You should play Pathfinder because you can fuck pregnant dogs."
That's a pregnant dog.
