People like Whoopi will be like “when I was your age, I worked 60 hours a week for beans”, which is probably true and obviously messed up. So is the point here that all young people are supposed to suffer the same, working bullshit jobs and we can’t make things better?

I wish some of these assholes would read a goddamn book. Just a pet peeve of mine, but emotions are the *only things* that motivate humans to action. It’s just basic neuroscience. All he’s saying is he has no fucking empathy, and feels stronger about his own trivial lifestyle wants.

When I lived in NYC, the cops were very interested in broken windows theory, so any small interaction with them was immediately hostile. I lived in Bed Stuy, and they would set up NYPD watchtowers in the middle of intersections, helicopters every day. My small town Canada mind was blown.

Bourgeois liberals are comfortable with fascism because it doesn’t threaten their class interests, so it’s no surprise that the newspaper representing those interests is consistently fascist: lied about Iraq war, lied about Oct 7th and now scapegoating trans youth.
