Twenty years ago, Ariel started working there part time and we've been connected to it ever since. Earlier this month, we bought the store with some of our dear friends.
I also remember going to pick up the latest Redwall book and listening to Brian Jacques read aloud. The bathtub is gone, but the store has been raising readers and hosting authors for over fifty years.
When Ariel and I were kids, there was a bookstore here in Portland called A Children's Place that had a bathtub filled with pillows. We both have memories of sitting in the tub and reading books as children.
