Okay I took Pat's advice, I walked into the campaign office today asking to be put to work. I spent 3 hours putting stickers on leaflets. And agreed to use a vacation day this week to get out the advance vote.

They say starting to vote early is the best way to ensure people continue voting throughout their life, how about mandatory voting for ages 18-25?

Oh I dislike it too, it makes it more about the cult of personality of the leader than the local representative. The law changed last year. But in this one scenario, I'm amused.

One possibility good piece, sadly probably not enough, is in BC you're now allowed to just write a party leader name on your ballot to vote. There's speculation of an increase in spoiled ballots from people writing PP on them. Which amuses me.
