Gotta disagree with you here. Always yield to the more vulnerable user. The kinetic energy you built up on the way toward that crosswalk is exactly what makes you dangerous to that pedestrian.

First thing they said was "there is a time and place when bikes should yield to people on foot but a blanket rule..." (not verbatim) Cyclists have great visibility and can make these judgement calls--it works elsewhere, why wouldn't it work in NA? :)
