My late mother could NOT figure out her grandmother's recipes. She finally watched Granny make a fantastic Montmorency cherry cookie, noting the "cup" measurement she used was a CERAMIC BEER STEIN, not a standard measuring cup at all. Anyway, I still need to make "Mother Dreyer's Small Potatoes."
