Similar story in rural France. We looked at what can best be described as a Scooby Doo mansion, with not one, but two extra properties in the grounds (yes, grounds, not a garden). Just over €300k. Property is insane in the UK.

Cheers, Gary. I’m starting to think we got off really lightly. At least our mortgage never went up. The £30k hit was a bit of a blow, because we’d already agreed the price of where we were going - but lots of people were (and are) far worse off.

So does that mean moving somewhere a bit cheaper, or back to renting? Even just moving house is hellishly expensive.

I’ve got that on audio. I was enjoying it - and then real life got in the way of a part of it that was particularly lengthy and also very heavy going - and I just stopped listening. I’d have to start it again to carry on now, I think - and given it’s a 60 hour listen, that’s quite daunting.

The Great When, by Alan Moore, turned up this morning. It’s a lovely looking book - and even signed by the Author himself. I have absolutely no recollection of buying it. 🤷‍♂️
