The United States has a bad electoral and party system. We don’t really have political parties in any real meaning of the word. Right now, we’re seeing everything that can go wrong with how it works. The US needs a new electoral system with more parties, which are more coherent and functional.
To do that IMO we should have: -Ranked choice -Larger multi-seat districts -Independent mapping -national majority vote for POTUS RCV allows honest voting (not forcing voters to game theory elections) and when combined w multi-seat, it helps expand representation of electorate.
But first and foremost, for anything else to be possible, the Republican Party must be destroyed.
How would that work with the electoral college where a candidate needs a majority to win? You'd need a constitutional amendment.
Well if anyone’s taking requests I would really like an Additional Member System thanks
There's a reason no other country copies the US.
Lol this is your first take huh? Electoral reform is my first thought. Nice.
Looking on from Aotearoa New Zealand we’re totally confused - that’s not democracy ???? Huh
