Hey Americans, feeling politically powerless? You have an election tomorrow. Fascists are targeting those boring state and local positions and using them for everything from abortion restrictions to book bans to criminalizing trans healthcare. It's up to you to stop them.
I will!
🔨? Or, uh, you mean voting, gotcha. I meant voting too.
library budgets are very often (but not always) up for a vote on regular election days (mine is) and it’s always a struggle because the only people who darn sure show up at every election are the anti-tax crowd. If we could get regular people to show up every year it would change the world.
The choice in the United States is between fascism and oligarchy. Both parties monopolize the political landscape and are bought and sold in an electoral process that is almost entirely privatized. The system is designed to demoralize the people.
Special election in Massachusetts’ Worcester & Hampshire Senate District to replace the previous senator who resigned to take another job. One of those easy to miss because this is an off year for Massachusetts November elections.
Early voted. There is a christo-fascist running for council. He lost his last election to be a legislator. Can’t wait for him to lose again. (Hopefully) It is true that “they” are trying to fill positions of power here.
Has doing legal work pro bono in your state for election protection changed substantially over last decade?
We're staying home Didn't yall say that was the move during the George Floyd protests?
My local school board has multiple seats being filled in this election. Tip for anyone interested, look for their social media accounts. One guy presented himself so professionally, so quaintly nonpartisan. Then I found his Twitter. And now I am terrified that he might win this seat. 😬
I can erase them, is that enough?
