Come see me at Lightbox October 25-27! I have a talk about how I found my personal style and how to find your own. I'll also have a long-requested Procreate brush making workshop! And finally I'll be doing a MaxPacks painting demo. See you there! lightboxexpo.com/schedule/
My wife and I have instituted scheduled creative nights. I made this guy with his dog and his paleta. Brush is a tease from an upcoming charcoal set. Using it against type a bit here but it can do some fun stuff.
There were several elements between the options from that last round that we pieced together to create the tall version, but we loved the shorter version too. So I made these hybrids and that's where we found her.
But let's rewind to my first round ideas. Initially I took a lot of influence from guitars to create her round body and long legs. Then I looked to my own grandmother's stature for her shorter versions. I thought it might help her connect with Thelma if she's the same size.
Back to my Thelma The Unicorn work, this time with Peggy Purvis, another of my favorites. Let's start it off with where we ended up. Because she's blind, I focused her fashion on pieces that would have a tactile quality. Note her guitar neck inspired glasses frame.
