I feel like you could say any game made by anyone is slightly inspired by every game that person ever enjoyed up until that point. There will always be moments where you'll think "how should I go about making this mechanic fun and interesting?" And your brain will remember all the ways it had fun

Ah, i miss playing Ragnarok Online.

I think it’s great to see indie devs taking inspiration from existing games, the recent palworld discourse has shown gamers don’t care about who owns what mechanic; they want fun game mechanics to be in lots of games 😊

ragnarok online was the most obvious inspiration i caught its gonna scratch some nostagia for me, game looks really nice with the pixel art
