I find Vallejo primer is particularly claggy.

Also, ironically you could be cleaning it too well. You could lube the needle (stop laughing at the back!).

Maybe blow some Isopropyl alcohol through? That stuff dissolves Vallejo paint. Failing that cellulose thinner? (Well away from anything you care about 😉).
