In all seriousness, the main thing you need to know about Bluesky as it currently exists, is that you have to put some time into it to get something out of it. Follow people, chat, and you'll find an active community. If you just intend to broadcast, it won't get you far.

So it's kinda the opposite of other socials, where you can just post whatever then boom it goes viral, got it, i'm glad to hear this platform has that.

Been here like an hour and have seen that like any real life social event, you have to mingle a bit to get something out of it all. If you shout all the time and don't have actual conversations, people will just ignore you and not care.

Spot on. Exactly how Twitter was out of the gates. No spoon feeding following/followers either. Emphasis on quality not quantity and talking with not at.

This feels like good advice and also a great opportunity for a lot of us to reflect on the bad habits Twitter encouraged in many of us. This feels like a place where we can actually talk to people, build community, and have thoughtful discussions rather than "dunking" on whatever Ragebait we get.

Yeah I have picked up on that. It's the lack of an algorithm like other socials have which makes it different, here it's a lot more about the people than the system.
