Being in industrial maintenance I can tell you that the first place that all executives cut corners is preventive maintenance. Lots of railroad accidents? PMs Bridge collapses? PMs Building collapses? PMs Anywho, sleep well
Competent people usually have a hard time dealing with the idiots and suckups that rise to power in those regimes.
Idk their jets seem to work fine and I'm guessing those are harder to maintain than tanks.
This is also just a thing IDF reservists do to avoid fighting, there was a mutiny about the m113s a few years ago
We get a lot of Israel mythology in the US, a lot of it centers on lightning war victories over conventional armies in the 1960s-70s, but they have been an occupying army for the last 40 years or so, I don't think they've had a tank battle that whole time
