I mostly heard it in old TV shows, movies, and documentaries. Maybe I only heard it once or twice, but it stuck with me because I was little and it was one of the first times I was ever like "maybe we're the badguys sometimes."

But also the "White Devil" nickname for the Gundam didn't originate with Tomino, and was applied to a different character in a different mech before being applied to Amuro in the Gundam. But I still think there's a chance Tomino was like "you called it what? Lol perfect."
