Aaaaand we are back into it! Got the bottom part of the hoof mold poured.

Boxed and ready to go, going to start the silicon mold process tomorrow morning.

Cleaned up and ready to be silicone casted.

90% through redoing the clay mold for the left side.

And into the oven on low to help soften up the clay as I plan on just wrapping it around the left boot, test fit shows I'll need a minimal adjustment. 🤞

I'm confident in silicone mold to start creating the left boothoof. As I start to separate the sidewall from the bottom of the hoof, I noticed that silicone had leaked in between the two layers. Lol

I have birthed my first boot hoof! I extracted it from the mold, test fit onto the boot and test fit the shoe on the bottom with a little sanding. I now understand the value of degassing, but that's an expensive setup. Going to test filler, sanding, paint as another option.

Got the mold cleaned up and prepped for the second half. Just need to test the boot fit one more time to make sure that nothing shifted while we created the mold.

I don't know if it's marketing BS or if there is an actual "deep pour".type resin, so we'll see. It also throws off the curing time of 24 to 36 hours, so I'm going to leave it for a 4 or 5 days to be safe.
