Making fabric is a full-time, everyone does it thing. Sowing fields for flax? Dudes with plows. Harvesting flax? Dudes with scythes. Shepherding fiber-bearing livestock? Dudes. Sheering them? Dudes with sheers. Anybody saying textiles is only women's work is just not seeing half the work.

1. Setting, which is to say, placing a framework of a fictional world around the activity, shifts it from part of one's actual life - one's work, or spiritual practice, or education, or etc - and puts it into the realm of imagination & creativity. 2. MUSH & MUD, yes. Dishonored etc - who knows?!

Yep. And not strictly framed that way, just a cultural shift towards "hey, don't be a jerk" paired with general agency to speak up when things are crap.

Roleplaying for therapeutic benefit has been around for ~100 years. And in education & on-the-job-training for several 100s of years. My interest, very casually and in this moment, is in identifying the hard edges between the spaces role-playing happens, so as to avoid making your GM your therapist.

That's exactly the question. Each potential audience has it's own assumptions and challenges to overcome in order for effective conversation to commence.
