When Final Fantasy 7 came out I joked that eventually we would have a Final Fantasy 17. Not only has that game been announced but they have also just released a two part remake for FF7. I think the joke was on me.
Square-Enix itself had a jokey "Final Fantasy XXVII" poster in Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
