i am not worried about the copyright because i never hold the copyright in things i publish with traditional publishers anyway, but given the kinds of scary people i study sometimes closed access feels safer.

Interesting tidbit -- DeSantis's war on progressive prosecutors is prompting DAs to avoid diversion, and to pursue petty cases. That's diverting resources away from more serious crimes -- in a system in which courts, DAs and public defenders are already short-staffed and under-resourced.
